The color
of her eyes. The special eyes, not like others. Sharp electric blue that seems
to stare into your soul. They were the first thing he noticed that first day of
their freshman year. She had noticed him with those eyes, seen him like no one
else could. She had smiled at him, her bright blond hair catching the sunlight
in the clear blue sky above.
Fast friends
they would become, attached at the hip many would say. Times spent with her
under a navy blue night. Days passing by with joyous laughter. Blue was the
color of the first flower he gave her, surrounded by white lace. A present she
adorned on her delicate wrist during their sophomore homecoming.
Turquoise,
the color of her Sr. prom dress that hugged her curves so perfectly. Royal blue
and white, the color of her favorite school. An acceptance letter dripping with
them. Dark blue, the color of her graduation cap that she allowed him to throw
for her.
Even his sweat seemed to glisten
blue as he dried dirty palms and bent down on one knee to hold her small hand
in his. The sky had shown bright blue just for her on that special day. Her
hair had light up again with that special sunlight.
Blue, aquamarine, teal, all the
colors she chose for the three rooms that added with the passing of time. “oh
how I long for just a little pink.” She would say with a simple sigh and smile.
Blue and black where the colors of the caps and the tears streaming down her
face as they whispered goodbye.
Egyptian blue, what a perfect color
for the new baby’s room. Sapphire, Cambridge, cyan, Columbia and finally rose. Finally,
she had a little color. Seventeen grandchildren to watch and grow up, one
little granddaughter. Only three new blue caps would fill her memories though. As
blue tears stream down pale blue faces. Soft cries fill white walls, her
electric blue eyes catching the sight one last time.
He watched her descend into the
black ground covered by light blue flowers and a gentle blue case. Royal blue
ties sky blue balloons in a dark blue sky. Even through his blue tears, he knew
it was better this way. He never wanted to leave first for he knew it would
hurt her fragile Alice blue heart.
Even as dirt covered and drowned
her blue life, he was happy. As he remembered her electric blue eyes, in a sky
blue day, that cured his blue heart and brought him red love.
